In the heart of the Peruvian highlands, the community of San Francisco de Choras has become an innovative example of how reforestation in Peru can be transformed through technology. Through our project Reforest Trees, part of the NGO Agape Hand, we are implementing a pioneering system of carbon footprint–based reforestation, supported by blockchain and Web3. This model not only helps reduce emissions and mitigate climate change but also creates green jobs, promotes sustainability in rural communities, and establishes new standards of climate transparency.

The key innovation lies in traceability. Each hectare reforested in San Francisco de Choras is recorded on the blockchain, allowing anyone worldwide to verify project outcomes with open and reliable data. This ensures that every donation for reforestation in Peru has a real, measurable, and visible impact, strengthening trust among supporters and donors.
Beyond technology, the real value lies in the human impact. For the families of San Francisco de Choras, reforestation means far more than planting trees: it represents new opportunities for dignified work, economic security, and a path toward sustainable development. In a region where opportunities have historically been limited, community-based reforestation has become a driver of social justice and resilience in the face of climate change.

This project brings together the best of both worlds: the local action of communities deeply connected to their land and the global power of Web3 and blockchain to guarantee trust and transparency. With more than 350 hectares already underway and expansion into new areas of the Amazon, the central jungle, and the Andes, Reforest Trees demonstrates that the union between climate technology and social action is not only possible but transformative.
